My journey with photography began on the streets of San Francisco while studying filmmaking at SFSU. I quickly started recruiting friends to model for and collaborate on a wide range of photoshoots, experimenting with style and composition.
Over time, I became deeply interested in Photoshop and advanced editing techniques which I use to create images that feel simultaneously grounded and whimsical.

I studied Filmmaking at San Francisco State University, where I served as a cinematographer on both my own projects and those of my classmates and friends.
After graduation, I worked as a freelance videographer gaining hands-on experience filming a wide variety of events and projects ranging from weddings and runway-style hair shows to circus performances.

My lifelong love of drawing entered its digital era when my parents gifted me an iPad for my 18th birthday.
Today, I use Procreate to create digital illustrations in my signature cartoon style. I’ve had the pleasure of designing artwork for stickers and merchandise for brands such as Moodeaux, Elite 23 International Inc., and Malaika Collective.
Cecelia Hutnick
Multidisciplinary artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area
My work lives at the intersection of playfulness and provocation. I work across digital illustration, photography, ceramics, videography, and writing to blend theatricality with surreal, emotionally resonant moments.
My visual language leans into character, fashion, and attitude. I’m especially drawn to themes of duality: beauty and discomfort, humor and menace, sincerity and satire. Across all mediums, I aim to create something visually magnetic, emotionally textured, and slightly off-kilter.
I hold a B.A. in Filmmaking from San Francisco State University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from CSU Long Beach. Professionally, I’ve had the joy of collaborating with brands such as Moodeaux, Elite 23 International Inc., and Malaika Collective to create unique merchandise and visual content. In addition to my independent practice and freelance work, I currently manage a community ceramics studio.
Whether you encounter my work through a sticker, a photograph, a ceramic sculpture, or a screenplay, I hope you’re left feeling delighted and just a little uneasy—in the best way.
